I would love to help your family navigate the school landscape in the greater Seattle area. I have strong knowledge of both public and independent schools covering Seattle city proper and the communities on the east side of Seattle. I consult with families that are current area residents and families relocating to the Seattle area. I annually visit our area’s public and independent schools, and continue to attend open houses, school meetings and school related events year round plus meet with admission and financial aid professionals. I just celebrated the 9 year anniversary of Savvy on Seattle and have successfully assisted over 300 families to date.
I am a Seattle native, parent of twin college students and a former marketing executive who spent 20+ years at various Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Starbucks and the Omnicom Group. In addition to having lived in several Seattle neighborhoods, as well as Mercer Island and Bellevue, WA, I have resided in New York City, Boulder, CO, Dallas, TX, and Singapore.
As an expat in Singapore, I began advising new expat families on schools and life in Singapore and was mentored by several professionals from The Singapore American School (SAS) and local relocation experts. I found I loved assisting families with their transition especially learning more about their children and introducing them to life in Singapore.
In 2014, when our family moved back to my hometown of Seattle, I was hired by School Choice International (SCI - Bennett Consulting), a global education firm. I specialized in research of Seattle area preschool through high school programs for relocating executive families for their Fortune 500 clients. While a consultant with SCI, I assisted families relocating with Microsoft, Starbucks and The Gates Foundation.
I consulted in the Seattle area for SCI for two years and then in 2016 I formed my own school consulting business, Savvy on Seattle. Having my own company allows me to continue to partner with Seattle area businesses of all sizes from start-up to established companies assisting their new hires. I am now able to assist individual families relocating to the Seattle area outside of a corporate move package. In addition, I expanded my services and offer school consulting to families already residing in the Seattle area that are looking for a bit of "insider" information and guidance whether on their local public schools, choice schools or the wide range of independent schools.
In early 2022, I completed the training to become a volunteer college coach for the nonprofit organization ScholarMatch. ScholarMatch makes college possible for underserved youth by assisting with the college application process through college graduation and providing scholarships for many students. I am proud to be a part of this organization and look forward to serving students and their families.
